BIRMINGHAM– PS Logistics, LLC (“PS Logistics” or the “Company”) today announced that one of its subsidiaries has completed the acquisition of substantially all assets of Shelton Trucking Services, Inc. (“Shelton”). Financial terms were not disclosed.
Shelton, headquartered in Altha, Florida, has approximately 200 drivers. Shelton is committed to providing excellent service, supporting its drivers and long-term customers. The transaction will further strengthen PS Logistics’ operations in the Southeast and provide it with additional terminals in Jacksonville, FL and Mobile, AL.
“We are proud to welcome Shelton to the PS Logistics family,” said Scott Smith, Chief Executive Officer of PS Logistics. “We look forward to working with their great flatbed drivers and operations staff. Please join us in welcoming our newest addition to the PS Logistics Family.”
“When my father and I started Shelton in 1969, he managed the office and I was its sole driver,” said Randy Shelton, President and Co-Founder of Shelton. “Over the next 49 years we built a successful flatbed trucking operation serving outstanding customers with dedicated employees. I am pleased that PS Logistics will continue that tradition with the same dedicated employees and commitment to service.”
The Shelton acquisition continues PS Logistics’ acquisition strategy of partnering with families and owners within the flatbed trucking segment. Since 2007, PS Logistics has successfully acquired 11 trucking and brokerage operations.
“PS Logistics has been the perfect partner for my family as well as our drivers, employees and customers,” commented Grayson Mitchell, who sold Grayson Mitchell Trucking to PS Logistics in 2012. “I’m confident the Shelton family will find their partnership with PS Logistics to be equally rewarding. We wish the Shelton family and the PS Logistics team all the best.”
